Vassal Gradington Benford III is a 2025 Grammy Nominated American Music Producer/ Record Executive/ Film Producer/ Entertainment Mogul. Benford has stamped his indelible imprint on the music scene as one of the world's top producers.


2024 Benford landed a platinum hit with Latin super stars Jennifer Lopez and Anuel, song titled "Rebound". The hit single was a part of a three-part project documenting Lopez's search for love and reunion with actor Ben Affleck, titled, "This Is Me... Now". "This is me now" released on February 16, 2024, is the 9th studio album by American entertainer Jennifer Lopez. 

February 16, 2024 Benford landed yet another smash hit album with Jason Derulo. Jason's album debut "Nu King" hit single ft Micheal Buble' titled "Spicy Margarita" surpassed certified Gold with-in the first 14 hours of release. The album featured superstar artist Adam Levine ( Maroon 5), Meghan Trainor , Quavo of the Migos, French Montana, David Guetta , NBA Young Boy, Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj.

April 10, 2024 Benford delivered seven back to back platinum hit recordings including R&B pop super star Chris Brown's new hit singles titled "Bruce Lee" and Delusional.

Chris Brown’s 11:11 album, with over a billion streams, earned three Grammy nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards, including the prestigious Album of the Year ! Vassal Benford, nominated alongside Chris, honoring his incredible contributions to this groundbreaking album, and it's monumental impact on contemporary music.

Vassal Benford wrote and produced the massive EDM hit "Be Right There" for two-time Grammy winner DJ Diplo ( Justin Bieber and Skrillex). The song, performed by Marshmello and Major Lazer, surpassed 1 billion streams worldwide.


2020-2023 Benford Executive produced the hit film series "After", "After We Collided" and "After we Fell" currently a commercial success, grossing over 500 million USD at the Box office. "After", "After We Collided" and "After we Fell" are currently the top streaming movies on Netflix.

Benford is presently Co-Chairman/CEO of Benford & Canton Studios with Partner Mark Canton / film producer of the 2018 box office Blockbusters 300 "Den Of Thieves" "Immortals" and the hit TV show "Power". Vassal Benford produced and orchestrated a sold-out Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

featuring the legendary Jackson Family.

CES Las Vegas is the world’s largest and most influential tech and entertainment event, a global stage for breakthrough technologies and innovators. Known as the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas is where the biggest brands and celebrities converge. As part of this, Benford spearheaded the production and orchestration of the sold-out event, showcasing iconic acts such as The Jacksons, Aerosmith, Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, Christina Milian, and a stunning 30-piece orchestra conducted by Benford himself. The event was hosted by NBA legend Magic Johnson, further elevating its star power.

In addition to his work with CES, Benford is the Chairman of the B.B. King Estate, where he plays a key role in preserving and expanding the legacy of the blues icon. Under his leadership, several groundbreaking initiatives have been launched to honor B.B. King’s life and contributions to music. These projects include the B.B. King Life Legacy Initiative, featuring branded products like B.B. King spirits, new music collaborations, a biopic and documentary, and the 24-hour B.B. King Blues Network.

2024, U2 paid tribute to B.B. King during their Las Vegas residency at The Sphere, further highlighting Benford’s commitment to ensuring that King’s legendary influence continues to resonate with future generations. Benford also has a professional relationship with superstar boxer Manny Pacquiao, whom he has managed and advised since 2021. Benford has played an instrumental role in preserving Pacquiao’s iconic brand and legacy, extending his influence beyond the ring.

 

Early Years and Career Highlights:

Vassal Benford's illustrious career began when he was appointed by music mogul Clive Davis (known for his work with Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, and Alicia Keys) in a joint venture partnership (Vaz/Arista). During this time, Benford discovered and signed multi-platinum artist Deborah Cox, whose hits like “Who Do You Love” and “Nobody's Supposed to Be Here” earned her multi-platinum status. Benford also discovered and produced the girl group Jade, creating the timeless No. 1 hit “Don’t Walk Away,” which made Billboard Hot 100 history by holding the number one chart position for over 39 weeks.

The Benford Company productions has amassed more than 500 million USD in revenue for major companies like Universal, Sony, BMG, and Warner Bros. 

 

Benford’s career parallels other notable ventures by Clive Davis, such as partnerships with legendary producers L.A. Reid and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, whose LaFace label released Toni Braxton’s 15x platinum debut album. Benford’s production work with Braxton earned a Grammy nomination for Best Vocal Performance.
